I apologise for more posts than usual, but I am excited about teaching at the NEW Rare Trades Centre in Ballarat! My first workshop was held yesterday and students and teacher alike were impressed with the facilities at the Centre. Participants came from all over Victoria (Bendigo to Bunyip) to learn how to make a Melon Basket. Manager Deborah Klein was there to welcome everyone, acknowledge Traditional Owners, talk about the Centre and give a tour. Two volunteers made everyone feel spoilt by serving us morning tea, including lovely cakes provided by Kittely’s. We were able to use crockery from 5 local Ceramic Artists that were commissioned by the Centre, which demonstrates the Centre’s dedication to best practice. Here are photos from the day…

Omg I want to learn this
Beautiful colours in the baskets!
