Grapes by the Sea – Coiled Basketry Workshop
We will start with a looped wreath of grapevine and coil the basket from the top down. The coil will be created from flotsam and jetsam (rope and cord) found during
local beach combing. This unusual coiled start is less fiddly and the looped wreath influences the shape of the basket with pleasing results. Coiling is a labour of love that it’s time consuming so we may not finish the basket in one day.
Materials will be provided but you are invited to bring your own collection of recycled rope and cord if you have one! Please also bring an apron, scissors and some lunch.
Workshop fee $100
