A parcel arrived this morning! Thanks to Carolyn for sending her much loved collection of recycled shoe laces. I will be using them to stitch a finely wrought coiled basket at Craft Lab. If you have any shoes laces please bring them along, I would love to see you!
I am participating in Craft Lab over the next 2 weekends, an event associated with the Heritage Festival and held at the Mining Exchange in Ballarat. I have a cubicle where I am exhibiting and demonstrating how to weave coiled sculptural baskets. I am also inviting the audience to participate in a number of ways such as; the simple act of donating recycled shoe laces, learning how to split flax, helping to coil a community basket and brainstorming the theme of Craft Lab 2023 (Light and Dark) through writing and drawing.
