AIR – Exhibition Instalment 6

Siri Omberg is a fascinating local character of Alice Springs. She pursues a broad range of activities to add flavour to cultural life in Alice Springs. She runs a stall called Ininti, at the local markets, teaches felting workshops, makes incredible award winning hats for beanie festival exhibitions and is an avid birder who goes on international birding trips and takes photos of local birds of Alice for community publications.

I approached Siri to be part of the project and she generously agreed, despite a busy life. We met at her home and walked into local bushland that adjoins the backyard to visit a small number of mature wild orange trees. I hope you enjoy this instalment (that is part of a series of blog posts) documenting the exhibition I had toward the end of my one month residency in Alice Springs from June 21 – July 19 this year. Don’t forget to make the effort to read the chat I had with Siri, it is hilarious and shows her personality! The photos of ripe fruit were provided by Siri.

I have 2 more posts (over the coming 2 weeks) that will conclude the process of sharing experiences I had on my recent adventure. I just wanted to let you know there is an end in sight!
