Random Weaving at Rare Trades Centre

Yesterday I facilitated a random weaving workshop at the Rare Trades Centre in Ballarat. It was a flurry of activity at the Centre with drum making and sewing workshops taking place as well!

Participants spent the day working with willow and hardenbergia to make their randomly woven baskets. See pictures below…

I would like to invite you to Plant Walk and String Making workshops I am running over the next few months to share my knowledge about collecting, drying, storing and rehydrating plant fibre for basketry. Come and gain skills so you can enjoy the abundance of the plant world, that shares its bountiful fibre with us to utilise in craft work.

Saturday November 16 at the Rare Trades Centre in Ballarat, book by following the link – https://www.raretradescentre.com.au/events/plant-walk/

Saturday February 15 at the Plant Craft Cottage for Friends of Royal Botanic Gardens. Booking for the February workshop will be available closer to the time via the FRBGM website at – https://www.rbgfriendsmelbourne.org/whats-on/
