January is for harvesting lavender

January is for harvesting lavender and weaving lavender wands! I used to help families make them at festivals at Lavandula in Hepburn pre-covid. Here I am in their lavender fields harvesting with a scythe in 2018!

I am posting in January 2025 to let all my weaving friends know I have cancer and therefore will not be facilitating basketry workshops and participating in other public weaving activity this year. Out of respect for my weaving friends I wanted to let you know. In order to respect my privacy I hope you can leave it at that and let me have time off from my small business to focus on my health. I hope to be back in 2026 offering workshops for those interested in participating. See you then!

  1. Hi Jodie,

Sorry to hear about your health issues. Taking time out just for you is absolutely the right thing to be doing, you have given so much of your self creatively to others.

    Rest, replenish, restore.

    Respectfully

  2. Thanks Tina! Sorry it has taken me so long to respond. I am taking your advice to rest, restore and replenish. Most of my energy focused on health and healing. I haven’t done much weaving as yet. I don’t seem to have the mental space or physical energy for it. But I have a couple of project at arms length, I pick up once in a while.
