Yarn Bombs

I learned to knit squares in the winter of 2016 and while practicing made quite a few! The extended cold and wet weather encouraged me to stay indoors and knit. I have always enjoyed the colourful fun that is graffiti knitting, so I decided to start a community project which entails yarn bombing the small hamlet of Mollongghip in the Central Highlands of Victoria….

In 2020 I had more time to notice that the graffiti knitting was in poor shape!
In 2020 I encouraged people in the community to “stay home and knit granny squares!” In 2021, the posts into the hall are bombed with the help of volunteers in the community.
2021, the sign into Mollongghip gets reworked…with crocheted flowers (thanks to Jacki Bacon!)
